Job Summary
The Corps Assistant/Program Specialist position involves supporting all activities of the Cathedral City Corps Community Center, conducting various Salvation Army religious services, and directing community meetings. Responsibilities include overseeing programs, maintaining fiscal integrity, and ensuring proper record-keeping. The role requires strong leadership skills, with a focus on both religious and social service activities, and excellent communication skills. Qualifications include being an active soldier of The Salvation Army, strong music leadership skills, and possession of a valid California driver’s license. A minimum of a high school diploma or GED is required, with preference for a college degree in a related field and at least three years of Corps experience.
Required Qualifications
- Must be an active soldier of The Salvation Army
- Must have knowledge of Salvation Army Music
- Detail oriented
- Self-starter
- Team player
- Strong use of the English language in verbal and written communication
- Excellent telephone skills
- Must have a valid California Driver's license
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must have or obtain a class “B” Driver's License with Passenger Endorsement within first 90 days of employment
- Minimum three (3) years Corps experience required
- Must be able to read, write and communicate well in English
Desired Qualifications
- College degree in related field preferred
- Bilingual in English/Spanish, helpful
- Microsoft PowerPoint, SharePoint, streaming platforms knowledge helpful
- Working knowledge of integrated database applications
Additional Requirements
- Must wear a Salvation Army uniform while on duty
