Corporate Transportation Billing Specialist

Job Summary
Audit carrier invoices against contracted rates, tariffs, routing guides, and service agreements by validating linehaul charges, fuel surcharges, detention, lumper fees, and accessorials. Compare carrier invoices to shipment records, Bills of Lading, Proofs of Delivery, and TMS data to identify duplicate invoices, billing errors, and unauthorized charges. Investigate billing discrepancies, communicate directly with carriers to resolve issues, and submit and track payment disputes, credits, and rebills. Reconcile approved freight invoices prior to payment processing and prepare weekly and monthly freight audit reports. Monitor trends in billing discrepancies and carrier compliance while supporting transportation accruals, budget reviews, and freight spend reporting. Utilize Transportation Management Systems, ERP systems, and carrier portals to maintain carrier rate databases and contract information. Assist department leadership in creating training programs and standard operating procedures.
Required Qualifications

- Associate's Degree in Accounting, Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field
- 2–5 years of transportation, logistics, freight audit, billing, accounting, or carrier settlement experience
- Experience auditing freight invoices and transportation-related costs
- Experience working with carriers, brokers, and 3PL providers
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Experience using TMS, ERP, or freight payment systems preferred
