Job Summary

Process and manage state and local sales and use tax compliance for Bank Divisions, including the preparation and filing of sales and use tax returns using Corptax software. Coordinate property tax declarations for assigned jurisdictions and process payments within the PTMS system. Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual income tax provision and reporting processes, preparing supporting workpapers and compiling information for internal reporting and tax return preparation. Independently manage a variety of accounting projects and assist the Tax Manager and Chief Accounting Officer on various tax-related initiatives, including assessing new regulations and providing recommendations for tax planning. Write tax manuals and procedures for different job duties while maintaining accurate documentation and ensuring compliance with applicable laws.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Accounting or Business with an Accounting major
  • 1 year experience in the tax and/or banking industry
  • Advanced Experience Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Knowledge Of Tax activities and the required treatment, internal controls, and reconciliation procedures of those activities
  • Applicable State and Federal tax regulations and applicable association regulations
  • Employee must be trustworthy and possess a significant level of credibility, discretion, and diplomacy
  • Employee must be capable of interacting calmly and professionally with a variety of people from diverse backgrounds at various levels within and outside of the organization
  • Employee must be a team player with a passion for customer service and a proven ability to build rapport and work effectively with employees at all levels of the organization
  • Employee must be well organized with ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast paced work environment and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Ability to adapt to change (e.g. shifting priorities, demands, and timelines) through time management, analytical, and problem solving skills
  • Employee must have a keen eye for detail and accuracy
  • Ability to analyze data, trends, and insights into root cause analysis and make recommendations based on data
  • Employee must be capable of regular, reliable, and timely attendance
  • Occasional travel required: (less than 10 days per year) by automobile (as driver and passenger), commercial airlines, rental vehicles and public transportation and be able to lodge in public facilities
