Corporate Senior Accountant

Job Summary
Perform monthly closing process and prepare month-end journal entries and supporting documentation; maintain integrity of balance sheet accounts through review and reconciliation of account activity and balances for accuracy; collaborate with other departments to clear reconciling items in a timely manner; gather affiliate company support for reconciliations; maintain investment ledgers and record new investments in accordance with GAAP; review accounts for misclassified assets and complete adjustments as needed; work with accounting teams on efficiency projects and general ledger item resolution; complete monthly, quarterly, annual and ad hoc management reporting; assist with monthly investment reporting and prepare audit schedules; provide information requests and file retrievals for internal and external auditors; engage in various accounting projects and process improvements; seek opportunities for career growth and development within SWBC.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from an accredited college or four-year university required
- CPA a plus
- Four (4) years of experience in general accounting and financial preparation experience
- Strong general ledger software and Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong analytical and organizational skills to oversee multiple work assignments
- Intermediate to advanced working knowledge of MS Excel, Access and PowerPoint
- Excellent communication skills to communicate both verbally and in writing with senior management
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with all levels of management; exercising discretion and independent judgment while performing duties with limited supervision
- Working knowledge of General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Able to sit for long periods of time executing, updating, and validating personal computer applications
