Corporate Security Specialist

Job Summary
Corporate Security Specialist responsible for on-site security of Wellmark assets, facilities, and personnel. Conduct routine patrols, monitor security systems (access control, surveillance, alarms), and respond to incidents with calm, professional judgment. Serve as visible on-site presence, deter threats, coordinate with internal departments and external emergency personnel, and support day-to-day security operations. Requires strong communication, risk assessment, crisis response, de-escalation skills, confidentiality, and ability to work as part of a security team. Office-based role with in-office presence mandatory; occasional remote work may be permitted with manager approval.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of security experience in corporate environment or related security/protective services role
- Familiarity with emergency medical protocols (e.g. AED, TECC/TCCC)
- Ability to think critically and respond to threats
- Defensive tactics and security equipment knowledge
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work as part of a security team
- Axon certification required, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as needed
- Preference for 5+ years security experience
- CPP or equivalent certification (preferred)
- Military or law enforcement background (preferred)
- Office-based with in-office requirement and occasional remote work may be permitted
