Corporate Security Officer - Human Services Program - Remote

Job Summary

Lead personnel security for a federal human services program by serving as the primary liaison with the Government's security office on all personnel, physical, and information protection matters. Manage the end-to-end vetting workflow, including coordinating pre-employment screenings, security applications, electronic fingerprinting, and quality control reviews to ensure accurate package submissions. Track preliminary fitness determinations, administer behavioral rules and certifications, and process separation notifications to maintain authorized access. Compile weekly security reports, manage continuous vetting enrollment, and report adverse information to the Government within required timeframes. Maintain audit-ready files and support internal quality checks. This senior role requires accuracy and responsiveness under deadline-driven operations with potential evening, weekend, or surge support.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Associate or bachelor's degree
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in personnel security, contractor security programs, HR compliance or federal investigations
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Must be able to successfully complete required pre-employment screening and federal background suitability processing
  • Must be able to handle highly sensitive personnel data (SSN's, background investigation data, fitness records) with discretion
  • Must be able to complete required training
  • Must comply with standards of conduct
  • Must follow all reporting, confidentiality, privacy, and information security requirements
  • Must be able to sign confidentiality, non-disclosure, conflict-of-interest, and standards-of-conduct acknowledgments
  • Must be able to complete required pre-employment screening requirements, including background checks, drug screening, motor vehicle records review, reference checks and other job-related screening requirements
  • Must complete required federal background/suitability review, favorable credit check, security processing, and program-specific onboarding before beginning work

Desired Qualifications

  • Associate or bachelor's degree
  • Previous Facility Security Officer (FSO) or industrial security program management experience
  • Experience supporting federal contractor onboarding, eAPP/NBIS-style security processes, fingerprint scheduling, public trust/suitability packages, or DHS-related training documentation
  • Senior/manager level professional experience
  • Hands on knowledge of federal personnel security and background investigation processes including electronic security application systems (e.g. eAPP/NBIS), SF-85P/SF-85PS, public trust/suitability adjudication, and preliminary fitness determinations
  • Experience tracking compliance deadlines and managing detailed administrative records under federal requirements
  • Prior experience supporting DHS or HHS personnel security and onboarding programs
  • Experience with continuous vetting (e.g., Trusted Workforce 2.0)
  • Experience supporting performance-based background investigation completion and staff readiness measures
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, accurate and timely documentation and reporting
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams), SharePoint, and document control/secure data systems
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
