Job Summary
Greet and screen all visitors entering facilities, enforce security and life safety policies, and patrol buildings to protect associates and property. Respond immediately to radio calls to investigate alarms, emergency situations, and crimes in progress, including directing public safety officials and executing life safety procedures. Monitor electronic protection systems, troubleshoot hardware and software, maintain databases, and dispatch personnel to alarm conditions. Conduct follow-up investigations, write incident reports, testify in court, and manage access control systems to secure the facility. Provide escorts, perform courier services to financial institutions, and assist with training new security associates.
Required Qualifications
- High school degree
- Valid Arizona DPS Guard Card license
- One or more years of related security experience
- Proven knowledge of corporate safety and security practices, procedures, equipment, firearm, and console operation
- Ability to learn the use of firearms and safety equipment
- Personal computer skills
- Good verbal and written communications skills
- Ability to use good judgment, deescalate and provide calm and rational direction
- Must be in good physical condition
- Physical ability to walk, run, stoop, kneel, carry and lift
- Must possess and maintain a valid Arizona DPS Guard Card license, unarmed or armed as applicable
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays as needed
- Must be available to work after standard office hours, weekends and holidays as needed for emergency situations and special event coverage
- Must possess the physical ability to walk, run, stoop, kneel, carry and lift in order to perform assigned duties
- Must be able to learn the use of firearms (qualify annually) and safety equipment
- Must possess personal computer skills and good verbal and written communications skills
- Must possess ability to use good judgment, deescalate and provide calm and rational direction
