Job Summary
Paralegal will partner with in-house attorneys to draft and review contracts across procurement, sales & marketing, and finance, while managing the contract lifecycle, supporting corporate governance matters, and assisting with due diligence and data-room document management. The role involves coordinating with external counsel, tracking projects and costs, and delivering training on contract lifecycle management and governance/compliance. Travel to participate in company events is expected; based at Scout Motors' Charlotte, NC headquarters with frequent in-office work.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree + relevant paralegal experience or paralegal certification
- Proven experience of 4-6 years as a paralegal, preferably in a corporate legal department or law firm with experience in manufacturing, automotive or other highly regulated industries.
- Proficiency in transaction life cycle management, and strong knowledge of legal concepts, contracts, and legal research methods.
- Strong understanding of corporate governance principles and documents.
- Proficiency in legal research and contract management tools and databases.
- Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Excellent drafting and writing skills, with the ability to prepare accurate and well-organized legal documents.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in work product.
- Basic budget management skills and ability to review invoices consistent with our billing guidelines.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a legal team.
- Effective communication and strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with internal stakeholders and external parties.
- Interest in continuing to develop and grow as a paralegal within an in-house legal department.
- Able to multi-task and make effective decisions in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- A proactive self-starter who is able to manage their time effectively and work independently.
