Job Summary
Conduct minute book reviews, manage incorporation processes including pre- and post-documentation, and review agreements relating to transactions. Draft required documentation, complete due diligence searches, and organize closing books and provincial or federal corporate filings. Handle files from beginning to completion with minimal supervision while exercising independent judgement. Manage multiple files simultaneously under tight deadlines with meticulous attention to detail. Requires 10 years' experience in corporate law, familiarity with the ALF database, and knowledge of the Corporations Act and Securities Act.
Required Qualifications
- 10 years' experience as a Paralegal in a law firm
- Knowledge of the legislation related to the practice area of law and ability to exercise independent judgement
- Familiarity with the corporate records database ALF
- Familiarity with the incorporation process under the Corporations Act as well as experience with public companies and Securities Act
- Ability to manage several files at once, strong sense of planning and organization
- Drafting capabilities
- Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines
