Job Summary
Utilize hydraulics software to simulate pipeline behavior, perform system capacity modeling, and identify bottlenecks for optimization projects. Maintain hydraulic model stewardship by updating standards with as-builts, matching in-model facilities to field equivalents, and conducting surge analysis. Collect operational data to validate models while collaborating with project managers and design teams to ensure engineering solutions meet functional needs. Implement corporate engineering standards and automate workflows through coding to support digital transformation initiatives. This full-time role in Houston, TX, requires a Bachelor's in engineering and 2+ years of experience with Python, SQL, or hydraulic modeling tools.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Petroleum, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering
- 2+ years of relevant experience
- Intermediate coding experience in at least one of the following languages: Python, SQL, VBA, MATLAB, or C++
Desired Qualifications
- Mechanical Engineering degree
- Proficiency with one or more hydraulic modeling software tools, such as Pipesim, AFT Fathom, Synergi Pipeline Simulator (SPS), Synergi Liquid, or equivalent tools
- Introductory experience in water hammer / surge analysis
- Experience in operational data gathering and analysis
- Programming and scripting skills in SQL, Python, or VBA
