Job Summary
Oversee all aspects of Environmental, Health, Safety, and Corporate Compliance, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local regulations including RCRA, EPA reporting, and Missouri DNR requirements. Conduct daily on-site inspections to audit physical conditions, safe work practices, and permit compliance, while managing preventative maintenance schedules and equipment documentation through the Faciliworks program. Lead the workers' compensation program, maintain OSHA logs, and coordinate safety committee meetings alongside HR and senior leadership. Develop and deliver comprehensive training for all personnel on OSHA, hazwoper, and facility-specific procedures. Manage hazardous waste reduction initiatives, environmental permits, and the transition to GHS labeling systems for the product line. Supervise staff, coach team members, and ensure proper filing of all safety permits and emergency response plans.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in environmental management, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related discipline, or high school diploma if degree with 5 years or more of direct experience in Process Safety Management, or suitable combination of education and relevant experience as described
- minimum of 3 years' experience in a manufacturing environment and demonstrated proficiency with manufacturing processes
- Previous work and/or substantial knowledge of, including commonly used concepts, practices and procedures, within the thermoset polymer industry
- Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge of office and facilities coordination and basic leadership and management knowledge
- Demonstrated organization, facilitation, communication and presentation skills
- Ability to prioritize workflow and organize diverse material and ability to handle multiple, competing and changing priorities
- Ability to perform effectively without supervision and within established time limits and ongoing deadlines
- Ability to interact and communicate effectively and professionally verbally and in writing, and to provide exceptional service internally and externally
- Relevant computer skills for this position include knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and web-based applications
- Displays adaptability in learning the use of relevant software and displays comprehension of fundamental computer practices and database management
- Demonstrated ability to serve as a knowledgeable resource to the organization's management team that provides leadership and direction
- Demonstrated leadership and vision managing staff groups and major projects or initiatives
- Outstanding interpersonal relationship building and employee coaching and development skills
Desired Qualifications
- Experience using SAGE Platinum for Windows preferred
- Previous work and/or substantial knowledge of, including commonly used concepts, practices and procedures, within the thermoset polymer industry is a strongly considered asset
