Job Summary
Strategic, enterprise-wide insurance leadership for a banking institution: design, placement, and management of comprehensive insurance and risk transfer programs (D&O, cyber, EPLI, property, GL, auto, workers’ comp, etc.), aligning with risk appetite, regulatory expectations, and governance standards. Leads program design including policy structure, coverage terms, limits, deductibles/SIRs, and pricing; evaluates risk financing options and captives; manages broker/carrier relationships, renewals, and RFPs; oversees claims strategy and interaction with Legal on contracts and indemnification; collaborates with Enterprise Risk, Legal, Finance, Compliance, HR, IT, and business leadership; ensures regulatory compliance, governance, budgeting, and executive reporting; mentors insurance staff and/or managed service providers and drives standardization and continuous improvement. This role reports to senior leadership and represents the bank to insurers and regulators, with enterprise accountability for insurance strategy and risk transfer decisions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Business, Finance, or related discipline; minimum of 11 years of progressive experience in corporate insurance or risk management; OR in lieu of degree, a combined minimum of 15 years of higher education and/or relevant work experience including a minimum of 11 years of progressive experience in corporate insurance or risk management; minimum of 5 years’ managerial, supervisory or work leadership experience
