Job Summary

Audit existing procedures and implement innovative changes to ensure all facilities adhere to USDA regulations, including the Code of Federal Regulations, Policies, Directives, and Facility Notices. Author, review, and update food safety and quality policies to maintain compliance with USDA, FDA, and customer contract requirements. Provide training to staff and support facilities during customer audits or regulatory assessments, delivering expertise in areas like smokehouse calibration and sanitary equipment design. Analyze in-process analytics data to identify trends and develop cost-effective system improvements that mitigate industry issues. Drive continuous improvement initiatives and lead team development to uphold regulatory, company, and customer standards across multiple sites.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in the food industry
  • 2+ years of demonstrated experience in team management/development or project leadership
  • Proficiency in food manufacturing processes
  • Proficiency in quality assurance principles
  • Proficiency in food science
  • Proficiency in meat processing
  • Proficiency in SPC and statistics
  • Demonstrated experience using a full range of continuous improvement tools and fundamentals
  • Relevant experience with government regulatory requirements in food processing (USDA, FDA, etc.)
  • Ability to document expertise in design & execution of Quality/technical work
  • Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrated proficiency using Inventory software
  • Demonstrated proficiency using Manufacturing software
  • Demonstrated proficiency using SAP
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Ability to uphold regulatory, company, and customer standards
  • Strong decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent writing, interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated multi-tasking and project management skills
  • Ability to travel up to 70% of the time
  • Ability to complete required applicable forms in English
  • Ability to read and write in English
  • Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment
