Corporate Energy Associate (Multi-Office)

Job Summary
Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support complex energy, infrastructure, and corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, project finance, and joint ventures. Draft well-written legal documents such as memos, contracts, and correspondence while assisting in negotiations, settlements, and closings. Build and maintain client relationships by providing regular updates and addressing concerns with professionalism, while ensuring rigorous compliance with legal standards and regulations. Participate in ongoing training and firm citizenship initiatives, including pro bono work and civic engagement. This junior associate role is open to all U.S. offices with a preference for San Diego or New York, requiring 1-3 years of experience and a JD from an accredited law school.
Required Qualifications
- JD Degree from an accredited law school
- Admitted to practice in the jurisdiction in which you are applying
- 1-3 years of corporate, energy, or infrastructure transactional experience
- Experience with M&A, project development, project finance, and joint venture transactions
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Strong research, analytical and problem-solving skills

Desired Qualifications
- Experience advising sponsors, developers, investors, and financial institutions on complex energy, infrastructure, and corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, project development, project finance, joint ventures, and strategic investments
- Experience with renewable energy, energy transition, tax credit transactions, and cross-border matters
- Strong drafting and negotiation skills
- Immediately transferable experience
- Excellent academic credentials from nationally recognized law schools
- Familiarity with tax equity financings, transferable tax credits, structured financings, and complex investment arrangements
- Preference for San Diego or New York
