Corporate Credit Underwriting Manager

Lead and manage a Corporate Credit underwriting team to evaluate and decide large lending applications (£500k to £5m), ensuring consistency with Group policy and risk appetite. Oversee end-to-end credit opinion processes for handoffs to 2LOD, deliver right-first-time decision-making, manage escalations from commerce colleagues, maintain robust credit documentation and audit trails, and drive quality and service levels. Maintain up-to-date credit policies, support process-improvement projects, and build strong working relationships across credit, risk, compliance and relationship teams. Requires proven experience leading a Corporate Credit team, strong credit risk assessment skills, ability to interpret complex financial information, and knowledge of UK lending practices. Strong communication, organization, and stakeholder-influence capabilities to operate in a fast-paced environment.
