Job Summary
The Corporate Counsel assists the Assistant General Counsel in protecting the organization’s legal interests; negotiates, drafts, administers, and ensures legal compliance for a broad variety of commercial contracts, licensing agreements, leases, and other instruments; provides advice on contracting, compliance, intellectual property, data privacy, and other nonprofit practices; translates complex regulatory requirements into business-ready guidance; advises on governance and data governance, privacy, and security matters; plans, conducts, and supervises complex legal assignments; develops and maintains deep legal expertise, drafts organizational policies and procedures, proactively identifies legal risks and mitigation strategies, and supports training and education for the team. The role requires contributing to modernizing contracting and legal operations, with a mission-driven, collaborative environment in a hybrid-work setting.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA accredited law school
- Active license in good standing with a state Bar Association and active member of Florida’s Authorized House Counsel, or with the Florida State Bar
