Job Summary
Corporate Counsel I drafts, negotiates, and reviews a wide range of commercial contracts (vendor, licensing, consulting, software, services, business associate, information security, confidentiality) for the company and its partners, under guidance from senior counsel. Responsibilities include providing legal counsel and risk assessment to business unit leadership, researching legal issues, updating templates, assisting with transactional matters and training business units on relevant legal topics, and improving contracting processes. The role requires frequent collaboration with senior management, business teams, vendors, customers, and opposing counsel, with substantial interaction with Premier’s privacy and security teams. The position emphasizes independent, accurate work under tight deadlines in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and may involve training on contract matters and development of templates. The ideal candidate will have a Juris Doctorate, be a North Carolina bar member, possess extensive knowledge of commercial and corporate contract law, and be capable of drafting and negotiating diverse contracts while communicating clearly across audiences in person and electronically.
