Job Summary
Support the VP, Head of Employment and Immigration Law and partner with Human Resources and business managers to manage risk and provide employment and labor law and immigration law support. Responsibilities include responding to agency matters, handling general litigation (fact gathering, witness interviews, discovery, evidence and motions practice), advising on hiring, terminations, performance management, compensation, immigration, investigations, accommodations, reorganizations, and other employment-related matters; monitoring changes in legislation and case law; drafting and revising policies and employment-related documents; managing internal audits and policy creation; participating in policy development for employment law matters (handbooks, leave policies, management policies); mitigating legal risks and developing strategies to avoid litigation. Qualifications include a law degree with active license in NY/IL/CA/TX/DC, and at least 2 years of labor & employment experience. The base salary range is $140,000-$155,000 with potential bonus and benefits; Teladoc Health does not sponsor work visas; applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship now or in the future.
Required Qualifications
- Law degree from a major U.S. law school (or foreign equivalent) required
- Active license to practice law in New York; Illinois; California; Texas; or District of Columbia
- At least 2 years of labor & employment experience at a law firm and/or in an in-house legal department
- Strong analytical, writing, oral communication, research, investigatory, advocacy, presentation, and interpersonal skills
