Job Summary
Support Doman Building Materials Group Ltd. across corporate governance, securities filings, M&A transactions, financings, and commercial contract drafting. Manage litigation, advise on employment and environmental law, and develop legal templates to improve operational efficiency. Work directly with senior management and divisional leaders to resolve disputes and mitigate legal risks while maintaining compliance with public company disclosure requirements.
Required Qualifications
- 3 to 7 years of relevant experience in corporate commercial law, securities, M&A or a comparable in-house legal role
- Excellent drafting, analytical and organizational skills, with strong attention to detail
- Strong understanding of public company legal, governance and disclosure requirements
- Licensed and in good standing with a provincial law society in Canada
- J.D., LL.B. or equivalent law degree from a recognized institution
- Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada without sponsorship
Desired Qualifications
- Business and legal experience in wholesale distribution, building materials, forestry, manufacturing, logistics or multi-site operations will be considered an asset
- Experience gained from a broad range of commercial transactions and business contracts
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to provide clear, practical advice to business teams
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently and exercise sound judgment under time constraints
- Self-starter with the ability to work well both independently and as part of a collaborative legal and business team
- Practical, business-minded and solutions-oriented approach
