Job Summary
Corporate Counsel, Product at Autodesk – a hybridToronto-based role supporting product teams developing software and cloud-based solutions, advising on AI/ML initiatives, data use, privacy, IP, and regulatory compliance throughout development to launch. The attorney partners with product management, engineering, UX, product marketing, platform and industry strategy to deliver practical, business-focused legal guidance, structure complex technology, SaaS, and commercial agreements, and enable strategic partnerships and potential acquisitions. The role emphasizes advising on AI/ML and emerging technologies, managing legal and commercial risk in a global environment, and ensuring compliance while enabling innovation.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school or equivalent Canadian law degree
- Active membership in good standing with a U.S. state bar or Canadian provincial law society
- 3+ years of relevant legal experience, preferably supporting technology businesses
- Experience advising on software, SaaS, or cloud-based products
- Strong legal judgment and ability to operate independently on complex matters
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Prior in-house legal experience supporting product, software or engineering teams (preferred)
