Job Summary
Corporate Counsel at AppZen responsible for developing, negotiating, and managing commercial contracts for software/cloud and channel agreements, including customer, reseller, vendor, and NDA terms. Will work closely with sales, marketing, operations, and finance to enable ARR growth while ensuring compliance and mitigating legal risks. Responsible for leveraging AI-tools in workflows and staying updated on privacy, data protection, and cross-border regulatory requirements. Requires J.D. and California bar in good standing, 3-5 years of contract-management experience with enterprise-level deals, and strong negotiation skills to support a fast-moving GTM organization.
Required Qualifications
- J.D. degree and admission to the California bar
- 3-5 years of contract management experience negotiating large, complex enterprise agreements with Fortune 500 customers
- Experience with privacy and data protection laws including HIPAA, GDPR and CCPA
- Knowledge of federal, state and local laws; UK and EU laws a plus
- Experience working on a team with both local and overseas members
- Flexibility to handle a wide range of complex matters in a fast-paced environment
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to build relationships
