Job Summary
Oversee all monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings for the multi-location dealership group, ensuring accurate GAAP financials and adherence to U.S. standards. Direct the Corporate Accounting function by managing the Accounting Manager, defining segregation of duties, and coaching the team on dealership-specific topics and public-company expectations. Lead the IPO-readiness roadmap targeting 2029, including building SOX-compliant processes, SEC reporting infrastructure, and PCAOB audit preparation. Partner with the CFO on budgeting, forecasting, and covenant reporting while managing external advisors for tax and annual audits. Create accounting policies, maintain ERP integrity, and drive system improvements across the organization. This role supports the company's transition to public-company governance and succession planning for the CFO.
Required Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
- Certified public accountant (CPA) or certified management accountant (CMA)
- 8+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Leadership of accounting teams
- Prior dealership accounting experience (auto/RV/powersports/marine)
- Multi-store experience
- Public-company, SOX, IPO readiness, or PCAOB audit experience
- Proven ability to lead teams, improve processes, and operate in a fast-growing, multi-location business
- Excellent communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work cross-functionally
- Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting software
- Ability to operate independently
- Drug free - must pass a drug test
