Job Summary
Lead the accounting function for a PE-backed multi-site distributor, overseeing day-to-day finance operations and building scalable processes to support the CFO's strategic initiatives (capital strategy, M&A, value creation). Responsibilities include leading the accounting team, managing month-end close and balance sheet integrity, maintaining internal controls, liquidity/cash forecasting, AR/AP/inventory levers, FP&A and performance reporting, automation and AI-enabled process improvements, and supporting due diligence and integration work for acquisitions. Partner with the CFO on policy, research, and audit readiness; collaborate with IT on finance systems and data quality; translate financial results into actionable insights for branch and functional leaders; and drive a disciplined management cadence with clear narratives and KPI design.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required. MBA strongly preferred.
- Eight or more years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including senior accounting leadership.
- Experience in a private-equity-backed, multi-site, or growth-oriented company.
- Strong technical accounting foundation: US GAAP, close mechanics, balance sheet discipline, lender reporting.
- Hands-on experience with M&A: opening balance sheets, purchase accounting, integration workstreams.
- Hands-on experience with Epicor Prophet 21 (P21) and Power BI strongly preferred.
- Comfortable operating at both strategic and detailed execution altitude.
