Job Summary
Executive-level Corporate Controller responsible for overseeing all corporate and property-level accounting across a multi-entity real estate portfolio. Provides strategic leadership for financial reporting, technical accounting, and internal controls, partners with CFO and senior leadership, drives scaling of accounting capabilities, and manages close processes, consolidation, and interactions with external auditors, lenders, and partners. Lead and develop a high-performing accounting team (including onboarding for U.S. and offshore staff), implement process improvements, system enhancements, and governance to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance across management and ownership entities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA required
- 12+ years of progressive accounting experience, including senior leadership roles
- Big 4 public accounting experience strongly preferred
- Property management, real estate, or multi-entity accounting experience preferred
- Deep technical accounting expertise with a strong understanding of GAAP and complex accounting issues
- Proven experience leading large, sophisticated accounting organizations in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment
- Demonstrated ability to build and strengthen internal controls and scalable accounting systems
- Strong executive presence with experience partnering with auditors, lenders, and senior leadership
