Job Summary
Lead the accounting function and build the finance and accounting team as the company scales. Own ERP implementation and drive automation across finance processes while supporting M&A activity with direct ownership of global acquisition integrations. Establish internal controls, financial policies, and reporting discipline for a pre-revenue business moving toward commercial operations. Manage GAAP-compliant financial statements and the external audit relationship, partnering with the CFO on budgeting and forecasting. This Controller role reports directly to the CFO and carries a succession path to CFO within 3 to 5 years. The position touches a global finance function with manufacturing operations in Brazil, Colombia, and South America. Willingness to relocate to a new out-of-state headquarters within 1 to 2 years is important.
Required Qualifications
- ERP implementation and automation experience
- M&A experience where you led or were heavily involved in acquisition integrations
- Real experience building and managing an accounting and finance team
- Background in a labor intensive, project based industry
- Willingness to relocate to a new out of state headquarters within the next 1 to 2 years
Desired Qualifications
- A CPA
- Previous exposure to IPO readiness or an exit strategy inside a PE backed environment
- Energy or mining experience
- A mix of public and private accounting experience
- Time at a Big 4 or top 10 firm in audit or advisory
- Coming from investment banking or another PE portfolio company
