Job Summary
Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of the Firm's books and records by leading balance sheet and P&L reconciliation, month-end close processes, and inter-entity control governance. Support a specific line of business within Corporate & Investment Bank by coordinating with middle office, technology, and operations teams to understand trading activities and apply accounting policies. Oversee preparation of primary financial statements for earnings releases and SEC filings, manage intercompany eliminations, and perform control procedures to validate reported results. Proactively identify process enhancements and serve as the financial control subject matter expert.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
- Basic understanding of financial instruments and accounting concepts
- Basic understanding of industry standards and regulations
- Strong analytical skills: Ability to quickly understand workings of a complex processing system and general ledger systems across the infrastructure and their interrelationships and dependencies
- Excellent desktop/spreadsheet/database skills
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
- Verbal, and written communication skills
- Able to multi-task in a constantly changing environment
- The Ability to critically challenge with the goal of identifying control issues
