Job Summary
Corporate and External Affairs Associate will manage strategic and internal/external communications, content creation across platforms (website, LinkedIn, news updates, briefings, presentations), ownership of specific content areas (factsheets, news pages, project trackers), support major announcements, and cross-functional collaboration with Strategic Comms, Internal Comms, Government Affairs, Commercial, R&D and People teams. The role supports internal events (town halls, leadership sessions), monitors media and policy for insights, coordinates external engagement (events, conferences, community organisations, external partners), and leads small projects to deliver high-quality outcomes. It emphasizes using digital tools and AI to boost productivity, simplifying complex scientific topics, and working within a fast-growing FTSE250 biotech environment. Essential skills include excellent writing, strong organizational ability, collaboration across levels, curiosity about science and technology, and comfort with adopting AI-enabled platforms for content creation, insight gathering and productivity. Desirable areas include familiarity with digital analytics, CMS, media monitoring, events or comms planning, and sustainability reporting. Personal attributes highlight quick understanding of new concepts, collaboration, ambition, and thriving under high pace and deadlines.
Required Qualifications
- Experience (or strong internship/placement) in communications, corporate affairs, PR, marketing or similar.
