Job Summary
Lead AstraZeneca Malaysia's strategic communications and policy engagement, overseeing reputation management, corporate communications, and government affairs. Drive strategies to enhance corporate reputation, influence policy change, and engage MOH officials, hospital administrators, patient groups, and other stakeholders. Manage crisis communications, build strategic engagement plans, mentor a team of communications professionals, and collaborate with local and regional teams to support commercial growth and sustainability objectives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Political Science, Health Policy, Medical Degree or a medical-related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare (pharmaceutical, medtech, health policy, private hospitals, healthcare government linked company/agency) with direct exposure to the MOH ecosystem and stakeholder navigation; experience working with the Ministry of Health Malaysia is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to develop and implement strategic plans across reputation, policy, and stakeholder engagement
- Experience in crisis management and handling media and external inquiries
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders, including patient organizations
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, multicultural, matrixed environment
