Job Summary
Actuarial reserving role with a hybrid work arrangement across Canada. Responsibilities include leading high-quality valuation analyses and the financial and regulatory reporting of actuarial reserves, driving process enhancements, automating routine tasks, and expanding reserving techniques. You’ll mentor actuarial analysts, provide updates to stakeholders, and contribute to cross-functional projects. The role supports multiple levels (Actuarial Analyst to Senior Actuarial Consultant) and requires a post-secondary degree in actuarial science or a related discipline, with strong SQL/R, Excel, and Power BI skills, experience with Arius, and excellent communication abilities. Hybrid work options include in-office days (2 per week or 15 hours per week at a Wawanesa office) and remote work from listed Canadian locations.
Required Qualifications
- Post-secondary degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related discipline
- Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society or equivalent
- Advanced knowledge of actuarial science, mathematics, probability, statistics, finance and business
- Strong programming skills in SQL and R, and/or other related languages; advanced Excel and Power BI skills
- Experience with reserving software such as Arius
- Effective communication and presentation skills
- Ability to mentor and develop actuarial analysts
- Team-oriented with initiative and autonomy
