Job Summary
Design and lead diverse enrichment activities for middle school youth, adults, and seniors, including music, visual arts, martial arts, and sports. Create and implement educational, recreation, and STEM lesson plans while ensuring participant safety and engagement. Facilitate orderly operations by supervising meals, conducting field trips, and managing special events. Collaborate with Group Leaders to develop lesson plans and model activity facilitation. Resolve conflicts quickly and maintain a clean, organized environment with appropriate equipment management. Work remotely or in-person using Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Google Classroom.
Required Qualifications
- Appropriate training or certification in their area of specialty
- Minimum of two years experience working with middle school-aged children, young adults and adults, preferably in a racially, ethically, and socio-economically diverse urban community
- Exceptional group management, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
- Goal oriented and focused on outcome and results
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Competency in youth development and child care
- Demonstrate the ability to engage, motivate and effectively work to create interactive enrichment activities that are age-appropriate
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to communicate and work effectively and respectfully with a broad range of diverse constituent
- Knowledge of DYCD and DOH mandates
- Knowledge of classroom management
- Department of Health Fingerprint Clearance
- State Central Registry (SCR) Clearance
- Staff Exclusion List (SEL) Clearance
- Physical examination and TB test
- Ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary
