Job Summary
Core Operations Technician needed to support commissioning, startup, and ongoing operation of a brand-new data center facility in Sparks, NV. The role involves commissioning, energization, functional testing, load transfers, and system validation of critical electrical and mechanical infrastructure; performing daily rounds and inspections; developing and refining operating and emergency procedures; supporting liquid cooling systems; monitoring environmental, power, and cooling requirements; overseeing vendor activities and contractor work; using CMMS to document maintenance; supporting IT deployments and decommissions related to power and cooling; and contributing to continuous improvement in a safety-focused, active construction and commissioning environment. Candidates should have strong electrical and mechanical backgrounds, experience with data-center or mission-critical environments, and relevant certifications (OSHA 10/30, NFPA 70E, First Aid/CPR or equivalent). The role offers a 5% swing shift differential during transitions to 24/7 operations, relocation assistance, comprehensive benefits, and a compensation range of $50–$62/hour DOE (annualized: $104,000–$128,960).
Required Qualifications
- 2–7 years of experience supporting critical infrastructure systems
- Strong electrical background including switchgear, UPS, generators, ATS/STS, and LOTO procedures
- Mechanical systems experience including chillers, CRAC/CRAH units, pumps, VFDs, and BAS
- Ability to read electrical one-lines, schematics, P&IDs, and equipment manuals
- Strong communication skills and commitment to safety
