Job Summary
Operate mixer to fill core boxes, pack sand using hands or power tools, and move core boxes by hand or hoist. Fin, patch, repair, and inspect cores; spray cores to harden sand, paint as needed, and bake them in the core oven. Run Laempe and Core Machines, operate hydraulic rebar cutter/bender and bench grinder, and perform core wash procedures. Maintain simple records, keep the work area clean, and comply with all safety rules and regulations. This safety-sensitive position may be classified as a lead person performing duties under supervision to assist machine operators and the core department.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to operate a forklift
- Ability to operate a core oven
- Ability to operate Laempe and Core Machines
- Ability to operate a hydraulic rebar cutter/bender
- Ability to operate a bench grinder
- Ability to operate a spray gun
- Ability to dip in paint
- Ability to use power tools
- Ability to use a hoist
- Ability to work from specifications and instructions
- Ability to maintain simple records
- Ability to comply with all safety rules and regulations
- Ability to keep work area clean and orderly
- Ability to perform numerous tasks under supervision
- Ability to assist machine operators and core department
- Ability to perform job duties as assigned
- Ability to act as a lead person
- Ability to perform other work as instructed by supervisor
- Ability to check levels on binder
- Ability to spray cores to harden sand
- Ability to fin, patch, repair and inspect cores
