Job Summary
High school seasonally staffed ratio-coach role focused on growing student-athlete skills in swimming for girls. Responsibilities include delivering fundamentals instruction, promoting academic and athletic excellence, ensuring safety, supervising practices and competitions, understanding WIAA/NFHS rules, reporting scores and injuries to designated authorities, maintaining equipment and facilities, and collaborating with the head coach to develop program goals. Required to stay current with sport-specific literature, attend clinics/workshops, and complete safety trainings (First Aid/CPR, concussion training). 19+ years old for assistants, 21+ for heads; duties include program organization, compliance with eligibility rules, and strong emphasis on positive leadership, ethics, and community relations.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior sport-specific playing and/or coaching experience in a secondary and/or post-secondary athletics program and/or related club coaching experience
- Two or more years of paid high school and/or post-secondary sport-specific coaching experience and/or related club coaching experience (preferred)
- Completion of the National Federation Coaching Fundamentals Course to include passing the test (preferred)
- Criminal background clearance
- First Aid and CPR certification (hands-on)
- Online Concussion Training (CT)
Additional Requirements
- Age requirement: at least 19 for assistant coach and 21 for head coach per WIAA
