Job Summary
Senior Staff Accountant role based in Los Angeles, CA, with hybrid work arrangement at Clare V.’s Atwater Village/Frogtown studio offices. Responsibilities include month, quarter, and year-end close (accruals, lease liabilities, prepaid expenses), balance sheet reconciliations, multi-state sales tax returns for 15+ locations, cross-functional coordination to ensure financial accuracy, mentoring junior staff, and identifying process improvements to shorten close timelines and improve reporting accuracy. Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance, 8+ years of progressive accounting experience (GAAP), extensive NetSuite experience (GL, AP, PO billing, reporting), strong Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIF(S), IF), and knowledge of US GAAP. Experience with Shopify POS is preferred but not required. Compensation range is $95K-$125K with benefits and studio-focused perks; located in Los Angeles with a hybrid remote option.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including financial reporting and month-end close
- Minimum of two years of extensive experience with NetSuite including GL, AP, purchase order billing, and reporting
- Strong accounting foundation with the ability to analyze complex transactions and prepare accurate journal entries in accordance with GAAP
- Experience with Shopify POS, preferred not required
- Expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel required, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIF(S), IF functions
- Experience with mentoring and training junior accounting staff preferred
- Extensive knowledge of U.S. GAAP and experience in preparation of periodic financial reporting packages
- Prior experience in preparation and/or review of periodic journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, accruals
- Detail oriented with strong organization skills
