The Teacher is responsible for teaching groups of students in a classroom setting, based on a curriculum and supported by instructional materials. Develop daily lesson plans to ensure coverage of curricular content throughout the semester or school year, using instructional methods to meet the unique needs of individual students and to assess learning; modify instruction, re-teach, and remediate as needed to ensure student success. Plan and adapt lessons to implement IEP goals and address special needs; implement curriculum and provide written evidence of preparation; assess students' social and academic needs to evaluate placement and program success. Communicate progress to parents/guardians; collaborate with school personnel, agencies, and families to maximize student outcomes; direct instructional assistants and aides; instruct students with individualized needs to develop academic, interpersonal, and daily living skills; manage classroom behavior; prepare materials and reports; maintain records in compliance with regulations. Utilize best practices and evidence-based interventions aligned with licensure requirements; demonstrate knowledge of IDEA and special education processes; possess strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
