Job Summary

Assess resident conditions to implement interventions and develop Care Plans, accurately recording observations in PCC. Conduct regular rounds independently and with physicians to evaluate symptoms, progress, and treatment reactions while administering medications per the Public Health Code. Provide preventative, supportive, and rehabilitative care including wound management, IV therapy, and tube feedings. Monitor and assist Certified Nurse Aides with personal care duties such as bathing, feeding, and ambulation. Admit, transfer, and discharge residents while ensuring compliance with Michigan Department of Health regulations and facility policies. Report resident injuries, abuse allegations, and unusual occurrences to the Director of Nursing or Administrator immediately. Perform quality improvement activities and skin assessments to monitor pressure injuries.

Required Qualifications

  • current Michigan license as a licensed practical nurse
  • CPR certification
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
  • Must possess a current Michigan license as a licensed practical nurse

  • Knowledge of current federal and state laws and regulations that apply to the practice of nursing in a long-term care setting
