Job Summary
Conduct person-centered supports and services for individuals with developmental disabilities, including developing, implementing, and evaluating service plans based on individual preferences. Learn the eVero database system for recordkeeping and write daily and monthly notes in a timely manner. Assist individuals in achieving goals through cognitive and physical support, teaching techniques to maintain positive interpersonal relationships, and selecting appropriate community activities. Provide safe transportation using a reliable vehicle and driver's license while supporting safety in everyday situations. Communicate with the individuals' circle of people and attend required OPWDD and agency trainings.
Required Qualifications
- Possession of a high school or a high school equivalency
- Successful completion of the Direct Support Assistant Traineeship
- Valid NY State Driver License
- Access to a reliable vehicle
- Ability to sit
- Ability to talk
- Ability to hear
- Ability to stand
- Ability to walk
- Ability to use hands to type
- Ability to perform light lifting
- Close vision
- Distance vision
- Ability to adjust focus
- Adherence to all applicable federal and state laws and regulations including confidentiality, privacy, program, billing, and documentation standards
- Completion of a background check
