Job Summary

Plan and execute Integration, Verification & Validation (IV&V) activities for satellite data-processing systems and processors. Support end-to-end verification of processing chains from mission data acquisition through L0/L1/L2 product generation. Define test specifications, procedures, and reports while establishing traceability between requirements and verification evidence. Prepare and manage test data, develop monitoring tools, and contribute to automated test environments and CI/CD pipelines. Investigate anomalies, analyze software and configuration problems, and support resolution. Participate in formal verification activities including Test Readiness Reviews, Test Review Boards, and Verification Control Boards. Prepare Verification Control Documents and contribute to the consolidation of verification status. Support deployment, configuration, and verification of new software releases, patches, and hardware. Collaborate with EUMETSAT teams, external partners, and engineering service providers on IV&V activities.

Required Qualifications

  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering or a related technical discipline
  • At least 3 years of demonstrated professional experience in Systems Engineering and IV&V, preferably at System and/or Ground Segment level within the space or Earth Observation domain
  • Proven experience in verification and validation of data-processing systems and/or processors, including end-to-end processing chains
  • Experience preparing test specifications, test procedures, test data and test reports
  • Experience with requirements engineering, requirements traceability and requirements-management tools, such as DOORS
  • Knowledge of space and Ground Segment engineering processes and software lifecycles, ideally ECSS
  • Experience with formal testing and verification processes
  • Strong technical documentation, analytical and communication skills
  • Must be available for full-time position based at EUMETSAT's premises in Darmstadt, Germany

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with CCSDS / CFDP
  • Experience with L0/L1/L2 processing chains
  • Experience with DOORS and/or VERDI
  • Python and/or Bash scripting
  • Experience with automated testing and CI/CD, such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD or Docker
  • Experience with Jira/Xray or other test-management tools
  • Experience with CCSDS and/or NetCDF test data
  • Experience with VCDs and VCBs
  • Knowledge of Ground Segment operations and configuration/change management
