Coordinator, Youth Hockey - Ford Ice Center Antioch

Job Summary
Plan, organize, and promote in-house youth hockey programs including Get Out and Learn, Little Preds Learn to Play, and the Youth League to maximize participation. Coordinate logistics for all leagues, manage player registrations and payments, and create game schedules. Recruit, hire, train, and schedule part-time coaches while assisting in player evaluation and special event organization. Manage facility rental equipment inventory, sanitation, and storage. Serve as a liaison between participants and USA Hockey, ensuring proper registration and guideline adherence. Address participant and parent inquiries professionally and maintain relationships with local associations. Manage program budgets to drive revenue and efficiency. Work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed, with the ability to work extended hours on event days.
Required Qualifications
- Five (5) years of hockey playing experience
- Knowledge of the sport's fundamentals, strategies and USA Hockey rules
- Four-year (4) degree in Sports Management, Recreation, Business Management or a related field from an accredited college or university
- USA Hockey Coaching Education Program (Level 1 minimum) certification
- USA Hockey Age Specific Modules certification
- SafeSport certification
- Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate, and evaluate high-quality youth programs
- Ability to work with children and young adults in a professional manner
- Upbeat and friendly personality with a passion to increase participation in the sport of hockey
- Excellent problem-solving, interpersonal, conflict resolution, and communication skills
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to work extended hours on event days
- Subject to a background investigation, including a criminal history check, previous employment verification and character references
- Valid driver's license
- Suitable driving history
- Insurable by FIC's insurance carrier
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines
