Job Summary
Coordinate and monitor admissions and transfers for Patient Placement Services across LLUMC hospitals; manage intake calls for ED-to-ED transfers and interfacility transfers; collect demographic, financial and clinical data; interface with payers and clinics for admission authorization; collaborate with the Patient Business Office for payer sources and eligibility; work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced academic medical center; knowledge of HIPAA and medical terminology; English (Spanish preferred); nationally recognized certification in Utilization Management/Utilization Review is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum of three years of experience with a medical group, managed care organization, utilization management, hospital admitting or medical nursing unit
