Job Summary
Coordinator Tree Canopy assists the Municipal Forester with urban forestry planning, tree inspections, and canopy data management. Responsibilities include coordinating annual tree planting, creating and prioritizing work orders, maintaining and analyzing tree inventory with ArcGIS/ESRI tools, developing procedures, coordinating with City departments and vendors, presenting educational materials to staff and citizens, attending Tree Commission meetings, and supporting long-range urban forestry planning and budgeting. The role requires collaboration with vendors, contractors, and multiple City divisions to ensure safe, efficient tree maintenance and planting programs, with a focus on canopy health, data-driven planning, and public outreach.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscape Architecture, Urban Planning, or related field and two (2) years related experience with at least six (6) months of GIS experience
- Valid Driver’s License
- Certification as an Arborist with the International Society of Arboriculture within twelve (12) months of hire
- ISA TRAQ preferred
