Job Summary
Coordinator, Sponsored Research at Harvard Business School provides cross-functional support for sponsored research activities across pre- and post-award processes. Responsibilities include end-to-end proposal development and submission, budget preparation and justification, collection of compliance materials, entering/updating data in institutional systems, assembling complete proposal packages, tracking submission and grant activity, preparing routine reports and forecasts, coordinating subcontracts/subawards, and maintaining documentation repositories. The role emphasizes collaboration with faculty, researchers, and administrators; strong communication and diplomacy; handling confidential information; and ensuring adherence to sponsor and institutional guidelines. The position is hybrid (onsite in Boston, MA) with standard hours of 40 per week; visa sponsorship is not available. The role requires a high school level education with substantial relevant experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office, with an emphasis on accuracy, process discipline, and customer-service orientation.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required
- 5+ years of experience in an academic, sponsored research, grants administration, or comparable administrative environment required
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) experience is a must
- Experience supporting structured processes, managing documentation, or working with data tracking systems
