Job Summary

Conduct clinical risk management and patient safety activities by identifying, mitigating, and controlling losses related to patient and visitor injury. Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements for mandatory and voluntary patient safety reporting while facilitating root cause analyses and surveillance. Partner with clinical personnel to manage adverse outcomes, investigate incidents, and provide real-time consultation on risk management practices. Support the investigation of patient grievances and deliver education to staff on standards of practice and liability issues. Requires three to five years of healthcare experience, a Bachelor's degree, and knowledge of healthcare risk management and regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Three to five years of experience in healthcare including behavioral health risk management or related field
  • Clinical experience
  • Applicable state licensure (if Licensed Health Care Professional)

  • Three to five years of experience in a clinical role or clinical management
  • Licensed Health Care Professional
  • Knowledge of and current in healthcare risk management
  • Knowledge of and current in healthcare standards of practice
  • Knowledge of and current in LH policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of and current in professional and general liability and liability insurance
  • Knowledge of and current in specified regulatory requirements for management of grievances and adverse events

  • Ability to manage critical situations in a professional, objective and effective manner
  • Ability to make independent, real time decisions within the clinical risk management and patient safety scope of responsibility

  • Ability to provide excellent customer service for internal and external customers
  • Ability to work independently and establish and reevaluate priorities daily
