Job Summary
Implement and facilitate Arts@theIntersection workshops, studio sessions, and gallery engagements with partner classrooms across Maine. Design new workshop formats, activities, and engagement approaches while cultivating relationships with community organizations, youth-serving groups, artists, and educators. Manage logistics for school, studio, and expedition workshops, including ordering supplies, maintaining calendars, and coordinating partner communications. Lead planning and execution of the annual community celebration and student exhibition, handling venue logistics, vendor coordination, and event-day management. Develop program newsletters, social media content, and website materials; maintain accurate documentation for reporting and grant requirements. Track program budget actuals, manage external inquiries, and contribute to interpretive materials for exhibitions.
Required Qualifications
- B.A. or M.A. in Education, Art, Museum Studies or a related field
- at least 3 years of experience in educational programming, museum education, or arts integration programming
- direct work with middle or high school-aged youth in a structured learning environment
- Understanding of interdisciplinary curricular approaches
- familiarity with inquiry-based or facilitated discussion approaches to teaching and learning
- experience developing relationships with cultural, social, and educational organizations
- A commitment to supporting the values of belonging, diversity, equity, and access
- Genuine enthusiasm for working with young people
- commitment to youth voice and student-centered learning
- Knowledge and experience in project management
