Job Summary
Manage district business operations by preparing and maintaining general accounting records, budgeting for long- and short-range objectives, and administering the district's budget to ensure cost-effective fund management. Conduct periodic audits, analyze cash flow for investments and bill payments, and prepare monthly bank reconciliations. Oversee purchasing procedures, bid specifications, and inventory records for fixed and movable assets. Implement policies established by federal, state, and local laws while compiling required reports and maintaining confidentiality. Assist with need assessments for student enrollment, staffing, and facility improvements to support district goals.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a business, accounting or other related field
- Knowledge of budgeting, accounting systems, and payroll processing
- Working knowledge of financial applications and accounting
- Ability to use software to develop spreadsheets and perform data analysis
- Ability to implement policy and procedures
- Ability to interpret data
- Ability to manage budget and personnel
- Strong organizational, communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills
- 5 years experience in accounting or bookkeeping
- Occasional districtwide and statewide travel
