Job Summary
Plan, organize, and oversee the parish's Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA) process, including inquiry sessions, catechetical formation, retreats, and liturgical rites. Coordinate and facilitate weekly formation sessions for adults and children, while creating annual curricula and tracking sacramental documentation and registrations. Supervise Elementary, Middle School, and High School Faith Formation programs, Youth and Young Adult Ministry, and Confirmation I and II sessions. Recruit and train OCIA table leaders and catechists, manage the OCIA and Confirmation budgets, and prepare program communications and schedules. Collaborate with the pastor, deacons, and parish staff to integrate participants into parish life and promote evangelization. Work with the Archdiocese Office of Vocations for National Vocation awareness week activities. Maintain accurate records, coordinate sacramental paperwork, and ensure all programs meet diocesan guidelines and budget requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Practicing Catholic in good standing with a strong commitment to the teachings and mission of the Catholic Church
- Successful completion of archdiocesan safe environment training and background screening
- Bachelor's degree in theology, religious education, pastoral ministry, or a related field
- Experience in adult faith formation, catechesis, parish ministry, or OCIA leadership
- Knowledge of Catholic doctrine, Scripture, liturgy, and the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with clergy, staff, volunteers, and individuals from diverse backgrounds
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, and parish management software
- Strong understanding of Catholic theology and evangelization
- Ability to accompany adults in various stages of faith development with compassion and pastoral sensitivity
- Effective leadership, facilitation, and public speaking skills
- Strong organizational and project management abilities
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound pastoral judgment
Desired Qualifications
