Job Summary
Monitor internal label product release schedules to initiate clearance work, gather product information, and verify songwriter and publisher ownership splits. Manage writer administration changes by coordinating with publishers, research writer credits, and provide regular project clearance and licensing status updates. Maintain royalty accounts by collecting W-9 forms, working with accounts payable, and calculating basic copyright royalty rates. Process copyright licenses for physical, digital, and mobile products, monitor bulk licensing processes, and register new recordings with the US Copyright Office. Respond to publisher inquiries, generate reports, and assist with special projects as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in copyright administration
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders
- Strong organizational skills, with a high level of attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- A general understanding of the music industry is required
