Job Summary
Implement the Health & Safety Management System and ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements and World Courier's global standards. Guide offices and colleagues on H&S matters, establish training materials, and conduct training on regulations and management systems. Monitor, evaluate, and review policies to implement new procedures as needed by local laws. Assess activities and non-conformances, investigate recorded accidents and incidents, and coordinate client audits with branch managers. Liaise with local consultants to integrate regulations into business operations and manage hazard identification and risk assessments.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in environmental science, occupational health and safety, engineering, or a related field
- Minimum 2 years of experience in environmental health and safety, compliance, or a related field
- Good understanding of local Health & Safety legislation and regulatory requirements in Germany
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
- Fluent English language skills, both written and spoken
- Familiarity with Health & Safety Management Systems, audits, risk assessments, incident investigations, and corrective/preventive action processes
- Ability to interpret and apply internal policies, procedures, and regulatory standards in a practical business environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with managers, employees, auditors, authorities, clients, and external stakeholders
- Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to provide guidance and influence safe working practices across multiple locations
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work independently with a strong sense of accountability
Desired Qualifications
- Certification in occupational health and safety, environmental management systems, workplace safety standards or equivalent
- Health&Safety Diploma
- German language
