Job Summary
Health and Physical Education Coordinator provides district-wide leadership for K–12 Health and Physical Education, aligning curriculum to Georgia Standards of Excellence, coordinating professional development, ensuring equity and accessibility, and monitoring program effectiveness. Responsibilities include curriculum leadership, program development, data-driven improvement, compliance with laws and reporting requirements, budgeting for instructional resources, and district-wide wellness initiatives. Requires collaboration with administrators, teachers, families, and community partners, plus strong leadership, coaching, and communication skills to advance student wellness, physical fitness, and health literacy. Masters degree and Georgia Educational Leadership certification are required, with substantial teaching and district-coordination experience preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Physical Education and/or Health or education field preferred
- Georgia professional Educational Leadership certification required
- 5+ years of teaching experience in a specialized content area (health and/or physical education); prior district coordinating experience preferred
