Job Summary
Manages the employee leave of absence and workers’ compensation programs; handles NYS Disability, NYSPFL, long-term disability, no-fault, and supplemental short-term disability claims. Oversees the agency’s workers’ compensation program, logging and tracking injuries, and providing data to assess trends. Communicates with employees, supervisors, claims adjusters, medical providers, case managers, and legal counsel; manages return-to-work and work-restriction processes; supports payroll with PTO/Health Reserve data; provides injury data to the safety committee to drive loss-control initiatives; coordinates sharps container processes and OSHA annual reporting; manages PTO buyback and ensures adherence to agency policies. Requires a Bachelor’s degree and 1 year of experience, along with strong computer/analytical skills and knowledge of NYS regulations (NYS Workers’ Compensation/Disability, ADA, FMLA, PFL, HIPAA).
